Come join us in Rockford for the acute care environment with all the commonly privileged skills used during routine inpatient care in a critical environment such as the emergency department, intensive care, transport medicine, and more!

This 8-hour live course is open to all learners and experience levels, designed to give you the skills you need to be successful in the transition to your first role, a new role, or just as a refresher with fun hands-on continuing education with world-class simulation equipment! Includes hours of online content through our Online CE Portal for lifetime access to supplemental content and lectures!

Please note for all 2024 dates, the course will be held on Saturdays and will be hosted at the NIU Rockford Conference Center at 8500 E. State St. Rockford, IL 61108 and is conveniently located near all hotels and our recommended bus transportation Van Galder (coachusa.com) from O’Hare International Airport.

    This one-day course includes a broad assortment of inpatient skills commonly performed in the acute care environment and also includes a series of online courses to reinforce the learning.

    Course Includes:
    • Ultrasound Use
    • Point of Care Ultrasound
    • Ultrasound Guided IV and Arterial Line Insertion
    • Ultrasound Guided Central Venous Line Insertion
    • Ultrasound Guided Thoracentesis
    • Chest Tube Thoracostomy
    • Airway Management including Intubation and Ventilator Management

    The AAFP has reviewed Acute Care Skills Workshop, and deemed it acceptable for AAFP credit. Term of approval is from 06/01/2024 to 05/31/2025. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

    Each Workshop is approved for 8.00 AAFP approved credit hours.

    AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s)™ toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1.
